Strategic Partnerships Officer (Volunteer, Remote)

About the role

Hello Debates is seeking a motivated Volunteer Strategic Partnerships Officer to lead the development of collaborative relationships with international NGOs, academic institutions, foundations, media outlets and private‑sector partners. The role is fully remote and ideal for a senior professional with a proven record in partnership building and donor engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute Hello Debates’ partnership strategy.
• Identify, approach and secure strategic collaborations with national and international organisations.
• Build and nurture long‑term relationships with NGOs, UN agencies, universities, embassies and private‑sector partners.
• Prepare partnership proposals, concept notes, collaboration agreements and MoUs.
• Coordinate meetings, negotiations and follow‑up with prospective partners.
• Support fundraising and institutional resource mobilisation efforts.
• Advise the Executive Leadership Team on strategic growth opportunities.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date partnership pipeline and stakeholder database.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in International Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Communications, Law or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in strategic partnerships, business development, external relations, institutional fundraising, diplomacy or international development.
• Demonstrated success in building partnerships with international organisations and development partners.
• Excellent negotiation, networking and relationship‑management abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong proposal‑writing and stakeholder‑engagement experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Experience with NGOs, international organisations or donor‑funded programmes is highly desirable.
