About the role
Save the Children is seeking a Temporary Child Survival Programme Officer to lead health, nutrition and WASH activities under the Damal Caafimaad project in Galmudug, Somalia. The role focuses on day‑to‑day implementation, coordination with line ministries and delivery of high‑quality services to vulnerable children and families.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and monitor health, nutrition and WASH interventions in the project area.
- Engage with local ministries and partners to ensure effective information sharing and service delivery.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports for the Nutrition Program Coordinator.
- Facilitate community mobilization and outreach activities.
- Support emergency response and humanitarian coordination as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in health science (e.g., Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, Pharmacy).
- Minimum 2 years of experience with an international NGO, UN agency or local NGO/Government on health, nutrition or WASH programmes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Good understanding of local language, culture and child rights frameworks.
