Temporary Child Survival Programme Officer – Hobyo

About the role

The Temporary Child Survival Programme Officer will support the implementation of health, nutrition and WASH activities under the Damal Caafimaad project in Galmudug, Somalia. Reporting to the Nutrition Program Coordinator, the officer will coordinate daily field operations, liaise with line ministries and ensure high‑quality service delivery for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor health, nutrition and WASH interventions in the project area.
• Collaborate with local ministries, NGOs and community groups to ensure effective information sharing and service integration.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports for the line manager.
• Facilitate community mobilisation activities and support the delivery of CMAM, IYCF, EPI, IMCI and related programmes.
• Assist in the implementation of GBV, PHAST, CHAST and CLTS initiatives as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in health science (e.g., Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Nutrition, Medicine, Pharmacy).
• Minimum 2 years experience with an international NGO, UN agency or local NGO/government on health, nutrition or WASH programmes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Good understanding of local language, culture and child‑rights frameworks.
