Paralegal & Eviction Taskforce Monitor – Jowhar (Casual)

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking qualified female candidates for two casual positions in Jowhar, Somalia: Paralegals and Eviction Taskforce Monitors. Both roles will work closely with NRC’s Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) team to provide legal support and monitor eviction risks for displaced and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver community‑based legal assistance, information, counselling and referrals on housing, land, property and civil documentation.
• Identify cases, raise legal awareness, support dispute resolution and document outcomes.
• Conduct regular field monitoring to detect eviction threats, document incidents and report displacement trends.
• Maintain case files, collect data and produce timely reports for programme planning.
• Coordinate with local authorities, service providers and community leaders to improve access to justice.

Required profile

• Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience or interest in humanitarian legal assistance and community outreach.
• Ability to work in hard‑to‑reach areas and engage with vulnerable populations.
• Good understanding of housing, land, property and protection issues.
