Paralegal & Eviction Taskforce Roster – Afgoye (National Role)

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is recruiting a roster of Paralegals and Eviction Taskforce Monitors to work in Afgoye, Somalia. These casual‑staff positions support the ICLA team by delivering community‑based legal assistance, raising legal awareness, and monitoring eviction risks for displaced and vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal information, counselling and referral services on Housing, Land and Property (HLP), civil documentation and protection concerns.
• Identify cases, support dispute‑resolution follow‑up and assist with documentation and referrals.
• Conduct regular community outreach to improve access to justice and strengthen coordination with local authorities and service providers.
• Monitor, document and report eviction risks, incidents and displacement trends.
• Support early‑warning and eviction‑prevention activities through field monitoring and community engagement.
• Collect data, manage case files and produce timely reports for NRC interventions.

Required profile

• Qualified candidates, with a particular encouragement for female applicants.
• Experience or familiarity with community‑based legal assistance, HLP issues, or protection services.
• Ability to work closely with government institutions and local stakeholders.
