Accountant Officer

About the role

The Accountant Officer will join Aleel Real Estate’s finance team in Hargeisa, supporting the financial management of residential and commercial construction projects. The role focuses on accurate record‑keeping, cost monitoring and compliance with accounting standards within a fast‑growing real‑estate developer.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and prepare payment vouchers, receipts, journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor project budgets, cost allocations and construction expenses.
• Process supplier invoices, subcontractor payments and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, depreciation schedules and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Assist in budget preparation, variance analysis and ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits and perform any additional finance‑related tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting software – Odoo experience is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
• Understanding of project accounting and construction cost control.
