Aviation Firefighter – Driver/Operator (Tier 2)

About the role

Fluor is seeking an experienced Aviation Firefighter to join its Fire (ARFF and Structural) Services team. You will provide critical fire protection for aircraft and facilities, operating specialized equipment and ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate fire‑fighting apparatus, including pumps, foam generators, boom and ground‑sweep nozzles.
• Drive fire vehicles to incident scenes, following predetermined routes or selecting alternatives as needed.
• Maintain and inspect personal protective gear for serviceability and accountability.
• Support Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) and structural fire operations, including mission planning.
• Develop and deliver training on ARFF management and equipment to military personnel.
• Manage inventories of fire‑fighting materials and equipment before, during, and after operations.
• Ensure all fire‑department members meet training and certification requirements (DoDM 6055.06).
• Follow safety procedures to protect firefighters and the public.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating fire apparatus and pumping operations.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level.
• Willingness to work day or night shifts in varied environments, including harsh project sites.
• Physical fitness to meet the demands of firefighting duties.
