Carpenter Foreman (Tier 2)

About the role

Fluor is seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman (Tier 2) to lead a crew in the construction, erection, installation, and repair of wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise, adherence to local building codes, and the ability to guide a team with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee construction, erection, installation, and repair of wood‑based structures and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine material types and dimensions.
• Select and layout lumber or fiberboard using rules, framing squares, and calipers.
• Mark cutting and assembly lines, shape materials with saws, chisels, and planes, and assemble components using nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Verify structural alignment with a plumb bob and carpenter’s level, erect frameworks, lay sub‑flooring, build stairs, and install partitions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and security requirements on site.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Three to six years of related carpentry experience, preferably at journeyman level.
• Journeyman‑level certification or equivalent in the carpentry trade.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level.
• Authorization to work in the country of employment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with carpenter’s hand tools and power tools.
• Blueprint and building plan interpretation.
• Accurate measuring using rules, framing squares, calipers, plumb bob, and level.
• Cutting and shaping wood with saws, chisels, and planes.
• Assembly techniques using nails, dowel pins, and adhesives.
