Project Engineer – Senior Engineering Authority

About the role

The Project Engineer will act as the senior engineering authority for Horn Ridge’s projects in Garowe, Somalia. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, you will lead multidisciplinary construction teams and ensure delivery of civil, structural, architectural, infrastructure and MEP works to international safety, quality and schedule standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full construction function, including civil, structural and MEP teams, site engineers, supervisors, infrastructure teams and surveyors.
• Plan, coordinate and execute all construction phases in line with scope, budget and timeline, liaising with consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
• Review and validate civil, structural and MEP drawings, shop drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with codes and quality benchmarks.
• Oversee health, safety and environmental compliance on site.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for cost, schedule, quality and productivity; conduct site inspections and progress meetings.
• Manage change orders, value‑engineering proposals and related claims.
• Direct material procurement, logistics and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.
• Utilise AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS and Primavera for design interpretation, planning and reporting.

Required profile

• Extensive international experience in large‑scale civil, structural and MEP projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes and quality management.
• Excellent organisational and risk‑mitigation skills.
