Electrician Journeyman (Tier 3)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman (Tier 3) to install, test, and repair grounding systems and related electrical infrastructure. The role involves working on new and modified installations while adhering to codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair grounding systems in compliance with local electrical codes.
• Plan installations to minimize material waste and provide future maintenance access.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble electrical conduit using hand and power tools.
• Pull wiring through conduit, splice wires, and connect to lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
• Connect power cables and ground leads to motors, HVAC units, and other equipment.
• Test circuit continuity and safety using instruments such as ohmmeters, buzzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Observe installed systems for hazards, make adjustments, and perform repairs as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of four (4) years of related electrical experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow safety, health, and security requirements.

Required skills

• Electrical conduit installation and bending.
• Wiring, splicing, and termination techniques.
• Interpretation of blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Use of testing instruments (ohmmeter, oscilloscope, battery, buzzer).
• Knowledge of applicable Army regulations (AR 710‑2, AR 735‑5, AR 420‑1, AR 190‑11) and Department of Defense Uniformed Facilities Code (UFC).
