About the role

Fluor is seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman (Tier 3) to install, test, and maintain grounding systems and electrical infrastructure on construction projects. The role involves working on‑site to ensure installations meet code requirements and project specifications while supporting safe and reliable operation of equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, test and repair grounding systems in accordance with codes, standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Plan and execute new or modified electrical installations, minimizing material waste and providing future maintenance access.
  • Prepare and follow sketches, diagrams or blueprints to route concealed wiring before walls, ceilings and flooring are completed.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread and assemble conduit using hand and power tools; pull wiring through conduit with assistance.
  • Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and secure connections with tape or terminal caps.
  • Install and connect lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays and circuit‑breaker panels.
  • Connect power cables and ground leads to motors, HVAC units and other electrical utilization equipment.
  • Test circuit continuity and component safety using ohmmeters, buzzers, batteries and oscilloscopes.
  • Observe installed systems for hazards, perform adjustments or repairs, and document data for Automated Information Systems.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of four years of related electrical experience, preferably at a Journeyman level.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while adhering to safety, health and security regulations.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense codes (AR 710‑2, AR 735‑5, etc.) is a plus.

Required skills

  • Grounding system installation and testing.
  • Conduit measurement, cutting, bending and threading.
  • Electrical wiring splicing and termination.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams and schematics.
  • Installation of switches, relays and circuit‑breaker panels.
  • Connection of power cables to motors, HVAC and other equipment.
  • Use of testing instruments such as ohmmeters, buzzers and oscilloscopes.
