Integrated Service Delivery Officer (UN Volunteer)

About the role

The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking an International UN Volunteer Integrated Service Delivery Officer in Mogadishu, Somalia. The assignment supports the implementation of the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS) through an integrated primary health care approach, helping to strengthen health systems and improve access to essential health services in Somalia.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the strategic guidance of the WHO Representative to Somalia and direct supervision of the UHC Team Lead.
• Support the design of innovative technologies and approaches for integrated delivery of the EPHS.
• Support alignment with national standard treatment guidelines, essential medicines lists and international standards.
• Contribute to licensing, accreditation and supportive supervision tools for EPHS implementation.
• Support capacity-building programmes for health managers on planning, organization, management and monitoring of integrated essential health services.
• Support supervision and monitoring of EPHS implementation.
• Develop knowledge products and technical documentation on EPHS implementation.
• Establish and support an EPHS Community of Practice in Somalia.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Medicine or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution; a Master's in Public Health, Health Policy or Health Systems Management is desirable.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, with 3-5 years of progressive experience sought in integrated health service delivery, health systems strengthening or RMNCAH/nutrition programmes.
• Thorough knowledge of EPHS development and implementation.
• Fluent English required; basic Arabic is desirable.
• Previous experience collaborating with UN entities or international NGOs is desirable.
