Landscaper

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time landscaper in Mogadishu. The role covers landscape design and planning, grounds maintenance and site operations, with a stated salary range of USD 346-423.

Key responsibilities

• Develop landscape designs, concepts, plans and planting schemes, including layouts, sketches and design specifications
• Select plants and materials suited to the local climate, soil and water availability, and estimate quantities of plants, soil, fertilizers and tools
• Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, trees, shrubs and hedges, including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding, planting, watering and mulching
• Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases and apply pest and disease control measures
• Maintain irrigation and watering systems and report faults or repairs
• Keep landscaped areas clean, attractive, safe and well maintained
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely, and keep accurate records of activities, materials and maintenance schedules
• Coordinate with contractors, gardeners and maintenance staff and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, Agriculture, Gardening, Grounds Management or a related field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture or grounds maintenance
• Experience developing or implementing landscape designs and planting plans is highly desirable

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of plant care, soil preparation, irrigation, pruning, planting, lawn maintenance and pest management
• Ability to read and interpret basic landscape plans, drawings and design specifications
• Good knowledge of landscaping tools, equipment, materials and maintenance techniques
