LLM Public Law Researcher – Full‑time, Mogadishu

About the role

We are seeking a qualified legal professional to join our research team in Mogadishu. The role focuses on in‑depth public‑law research, policy analysis, and the preparation of scholarly and advisory documents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research on constitutional, administrative, human‑rights and governance law.
• Draft research papers, policy briefs, legal opinions and analytical reports.
• Review legislation, case law and regulatory instruments relevant to public institutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, participate in consultations, workshops and present findings.
• Support the design and implementation of legal reform initiatives and capacity‑building activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all research and advisory work.

Required profile

• LLM or equivalent advanced degree in public law (constitutional, administrative, human‑rights).
• Proven experience in legal research, policy analysis and drafting professional legal documents.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; knowledge of Somali legal context is a plus.
• Professionalism, ethical judgment and respect for confidentiality.

• Proficiency with legal research databases and citation standards.
• Ability to interpret legislation, case law and regulatory frameworks.
