Master Electrician (Tier 3)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a highly skilled Master Electrician (Tier 3) to plan, install, and maintain electrical systems on construction projects. This senior‑level position requires extensive hands‑on experience, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Plan layouts, install, and repair wiring, fixtures, and control equipment in compliance with codes and manufacturer specifications.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, and conduit benders.
• Pull wiring through conduit, splice wires, and connect to lighting, power equipment, switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
• Test circuit continuity and equipment safety using ohmmeters, buzzers, batteries, and oscilloscopes.
• Observe installed systems for hazards, make adjustments, and repair faulty equipment as needed.
• Provide supervision for crew members and ensure work is performed with minimal material waste.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (or comparable education/experience).
• Five to eight years of related electrical experience.
• Verified certification, license, or degree appropriate for a Master Electrician.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and conduit installation.
• Use of hand and power tools (hacksaw, pipe threader, conduit bender, screwdrivers, drills).
• Splicing, stripping, soldering, and applying terminal caps.
• Installation of switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels.
• Testing instruments: ohmmeter, buzzer, battery, oscilloscope.
• Connection of power cables to motors, HVAC units, and other equipment.
