About the role
The position is for a senior Medical Oncologist to lead and deliver comprehensive cancer care within a hospital setting. The role involves managing patients with solid tumours, designing systemic treatment plans, and ensuring safe delivery of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and stage various solid tumours.
- Develop and implement systemic treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted agents.
- Prescribe and monitor chemotherapy safely, adjusting doses for renal and hepatic function.
- Recognise and manage treatment‑related toxicities such as neutropenic sepsis, tumor lysis syndrome, infusion reactions, mucositis, cytopenias and extravasation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumour board meetings and coordinate care with surgery, radiology, pathology, pharmacy, nursing, ICU and radiotherapy services.
- Lead protocol development and ensure accurate oncology documentation.
- Plan and provide palliative care, obtaining informed consent and supporting end‑of‑life decisions.
Required profile
- MBBS/MD or equivalent with postgraduate qualification in Medical Oncology (MD/DM, DNB, MRCP + CCT, Arab Board, Fellowship).
- Valid specialist/consultant licence or eligibility.
- Minimum 7 years of experience after postgraduate qualification, with active chemotherapy and inpatient/outpatient oncology practice.
- Preferred fellowship or advanced training in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hematologic oncology interface, palliative oncology or tumour board leadership.
