Junior Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Specialist (Somalia)

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a Junior Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Specialist to join the core team of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The role focuses on strengthening the capacity of the higher education system through robust coordination, regulation, and sustainable interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain monitoring and evaluation frameworks for the project.
• Conduct baseline studies, surveys and evaluations specifically in the education sector.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data and produce evidence‑based recommendations and donor reports.
• Ensure compliance with EU donor reporting requirements and indicator definitions.
• Support results‑based management and logical‑framework approaches throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in statistics, economics, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing M&E frameworks for development programmes.
• Proven experience conducting research and evaluations in the education sector.
• Familiarity with EU or similar donor reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, Stata and R.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Training in results‑based management and logical‑framework approaches.
