Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Specialist (Junior) – Somalia

About the role

NTU International A/S is leading a consortium to implement the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Specialist (Junior) will support the core team in strengthening the capacity of Somalia’s higher education system through robust data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks for the project.
• Conduct baseline studies, surveys, and evaluations focused on the education sector.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to generate evidence‑based recommendations.
• Prepare regular progress reports and donor‑specific deliverables in line with EU reporting requirements.
• Support results‑based management and logical‑framework approaches throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in statistics, economics, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing M&E frameworks for development programmes.
• Proven experience conducting education‑sector surveys and baseline studies.
• Familiarity with EU or similar donor reporting standards and indicator definitions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, and R.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Experience with results‑based management and logical‑framework approaches.
