Senior Vector Control Specialist (Tier 2)

About the role

The Senior Vector Control Specialist leads the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for an assigned area, protecting personnel from pest‑borne diseases and minimizing property damage. This position works closely with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) teams, veterinary representatives, and DoD personnel to ensure a safe, healthy work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise vector control activities and the overall IPM program for the assigned area.
• Evaluate site conditions (buildings, supplies, terrain) to identify and mitigate pest‑related hazards.
• Partner with HSE team members to deliver preventative medicine and health‑promotion campaigns.
• Educate and train site personnel on hazard avoidance, exclusion practices, and personal protection measures for flies, biting insects, rodents, ants, and other arthropods.
• Coordinate trapping, transportation of feral animals, and pesticide/herbicide applications with veterinary and DoD representatives.
• Ensure hazardous materials are stored, transported, and used in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Document hazards, communicate health impacts, and consult with site management on facility design improvements.
• Provide data to Automated Information Systems (AIS) and maintain administrative records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or comparable education/experience.
• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience in vector control or integrated pest management.
• Familiarity with host national regulatory guidance and DoD directives (DoDI 4150.07, TB MED 561).
