Security Officer (FS5)

About the role

The Security Officer (FS5) will be based at the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) in Mogadishu. Working within the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) framework, the incumbent will help ensure the safety and security of UN personnel, assets and programmes in Somalia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support and oversight for the UN security management system in Somalia.
• Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of security programmes and activities.
• Report to the Chief Security Officer through the Supervisor of Premises Security.
• Collaborate with the Principal Security Adviser of UNDSS Integrated Security Workforce, Somalia.

Required profile

• Relevant security qualifications and experience in an international or UN environment.
• Ability to work under the overall management of senior security leadership.
• Strong understanding of security risk assessment and mitigation.
